What is Stainless Steel 347H Plate?

Stainless Steel 347H is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel stabilized with niobium (columbium). The niobium prevents chromium carbide precipitation during welding and prolonged exposure to high temperatures, significantly improving resistance to intergranular corrosion.

Compared to SS 347, the higher carbon content in ASTM A240 TP347H Plate provides enhanced creep resistance and better mechanical strength at temperatures exceeding 550°C, making it suitable for high-temperature pressure equipment.
